Muay Thai & Boxing

Muay Thai is a martial art and combat sport also known as the “science of 8 limbs, it incorporates strikes using the fists, knees, shins and elbow as well as an element of grappling.

Benefits of Muay Thai:

  • Calorie Burner

  • self-Confidence

  • strengthens of the body

  • Self-defense

Muay Thai training begins with learning the basic stance and movement. With the chin tucked in, the body is kept upright and hands in guard position to protect the head, and feet are kept roughly shoulder-width apart. Right-handers keep their left foot a little to the front while keeping their right feet roughly 45 degrees to the outside. Left-handers (Southpaws) do it in reverse with their right foot in front. This posture allows the fighter to be in balance and ready to strike or defend when appropriate.

Attacking techniques consist of punches, elbow strikes, knee strikes, kicks, push kicks and clinches. Defense techniques consist of blocks, lean backs, deflections, leg catches and dodges. These techniques mix and match to combine into combinations(combo) that can be used for attack or counter. An example of a combo that is often taught and used is the jab-cross-low kick. Each attacking technique includes a series of variations.

Wrestling

At its core, wrestling involves the act of grappling with an adversary, employing a combination of holds, throws, and maneuvers to subdue or pin them to the ground. This intense physical contest demands not only physical prowess but also mental acumen, as wrestlers must anticipate and react swiftly to their opponent’s actions

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

BJJ, short for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is a ground-based martial art that prioritizes technique and leverage over raw strength and athleticism. Its fundamental principle is that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a larger, stronger opponent by using proper technique, leverage, and body mechanics.

In BJJ, practitioners engage in grappling techniques, including joint locks, chokeholds, throws, sweeps, and various submission holds. The focus is on controlling an opponent on the ground, making it a highly effective self-defense system. Unlike other martial arts, BJJ primarily takes place on the mat, emphasizing ground combat. Practitioners learn how to maneuver, escape, and submit opponents while maintaining control in various positions.

Mixed Martial Arts

MMA, short for Mixed Martial Arts, is a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills from a mixture of other combat sports to be used in competition. The rules permit the usage of both striking and grappling techniques while standing and on the ground. Fighters in MMA combine elements from various martial arts disciplines, including boxing, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and more. The goal is to create a versatile skill set that works in different scenarios. Unlike traditional martial arts, where practitioners specialize in one style, MMA fighters train in multiple areas to become well-rounded combatants. They learn striking techniques, takedowns, submissions, and ground control
